Jacobea Vulgaris (Raven's Ragwort)

It is a very abundant wildflower in the UK and northern parts of Finland. It can grow on roadsides, in meadows and wasteland. The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the presence of at least eight toxic alkaloids in this herb. Unlike most poisons that leave the body quickly, these alkaloids accumulate in the liver over time, causing liver cirrhosis. Once symptoms begin to appear, the damage is irreversible.
